Life is what you make of it, build something

I've always felt software on its own isn't complete unless it is part of something physical.  I started developing firmware for embedded products over 10 years ago as a researcher in the UC Berkeley sensor network program.  Since then, I've seen the space grow from academia and early attempts at commercialization to today where you can buy IOT products at Home Depot.  Through it all, I have been very much part of it: from building sensor hardware, developing modules and low power protocols to today where I'm managing a team that is building products meant for a smart connected home.
